We're back!

We wanted to share some great news: our applications and games are back up on Facebook. Not only will our quiz and gift applications and games like Critter Island be back, but over the next few days we will be adding to our portfolio. Be sure to keep an eye out for the news from tomorrow’s DiscoveryBeat 2010.

It has been a big weekend in the news for privacy and Facebook applications. As tonight’s Facebook developer blog post states, “In most cases, developers did not intend to pass this information, but did so because of the technical details of how browsers work.” This statement applies to Lolapps.

When we were informed of the issue the relationship that put us into this category was immediately dissolved. Since Lolapps was founded in 2008, we have always been committed to Facebook’s platform policies and will continue to be as we grow.

The entire team here wants our 150 million users to know that we are sorry they had to go without their favorite Lolapps games and applications.

  1. My Gift Creator App is not working.

    It says:
"We have worked closely with the Facebook team to ensure that our applications and games are in compliance with their policies and look forward to contiuing to partner with them to bring the safest possible experience to our users. Some of the features in our quiz and gifts applications will not work, such as publishing to your wall and sending requests, as we work through this process with Facebook. Fans of LOLapps should look forward to a new focus on gaming and exciting developments our new game Ravenwood Fair that we introduced last week."

  3. It is so unprofessional not to let your users know the situation with Critter Island. I can understand that you may not have a time scale for a fix, but you should post something on the wall to let people know that you haven't given up with this game.

  4. I just spent 15 minutes trying to find a way to contact you about a glitch happening in Ravenwood Fair. I doubt I'm in the right place but I don't see a more direct way. Which is weird, I would have thought a game marked as being in "beta mode" would have an easier way to notify or problems.

Problem: "Briggs" the snowman protector (who's supposed to defend/comfort) isn't comforting scared citizens. If they run to other protectors in my fair, they normalize quickly. If they run to Briggs...I watched one stand next to him for 5 minutes, still 'scared' and not comforted like it should have been. And yes, he's charged up and doesn't need charging again for another hour. It's a glitch.

It's a nice game, this just seems like a problem you should be aware of. Also, a better way to report things would be a godsend. And it's confusing that Critter Island is advertised prominently on your official website when you just announced the game is basically dead now.
